Understanding the formats

Decimal odds

The displayed number includes the returned stake as well as potential profit.

Fractional odds

The fraction represents potential profit relative to the stake.

American odds

Positive values show profit from a 100-unit stake. Negative values show the stake required for 100 units of profit.

Implied probability

This is the probability represented by the supplied price before bookmaker margin or overround considerations.

Recurring Decimal values and implied probability are rounded for display using the engine’s exact half-up policy. The internal conversion remains exact.

Odds converter questions

How do I convert Fractional odds to Decimal odds?

Enter the fractional price, such as 5/2. SlipLogic converts its exact value and displays the equivalent Decimal odds automatically.

Why do positive American odds need a plus sign?

The plus sign distinguishes positive American odds from ordinary unsigned Decimal input. For example, +250 is American while 250 is Decimal.

What does negative American odds mean?

Negative American odds show the stake required to make 100 units of profit. For example, -200 represents a 200-unit stake for 100 units of potential profit.

Are odds conversions exact?

Yes. SlipLogic keeps the conversion as exact rational values. Rounded display digits do not alter the exact internal value.

What is implied probability?

It is the probability represented by the supplied price before allowing for bookmaker margin or market overround.
